THE CLIENT
RID® Medicated Insect Repellent has been protecting families since 1956. Say the name RID to any Aussie and they’ll immediately smile and remember the long summer days at the beach or backyard cricket games that were played until you couldn’t see the ball anymore.
THE CHALLENGE
The iconic RID® brand required revitalisation to rekindle consumer interest. Amidst a crowded market, an update was imperative to enhance its competitiveness and resonate with contemporary consumers.
THE SOLUTION
Leveraging the nostalgic sentiments associated with RID®, we elevated brand recognition and heritage by refining the logo letterform. The result is a stronger, cleaner mark that enhances visibility on product packs. While retaining the iconic RID® purple, the beloved RID® mozzie caricature received a refreshed style update. This comprehensive brand update extended to product labels, packaging, trade displays, flyers, brochures, advertising product photography, website, and more. To maintain brand consistency across diverse materials, we developed comprehensive brand guidelines.
RID AUSTRALIA
RID Australia, the parent brand overseeing RID® Medicated Insect Repellent and a range of other consumer product brands, underwent a strategic initiative. Beginning with the establishment of a product brand architecture, we played a crucial role in shaping this framework, starting with the existing RID® Medicated Insect Repellent products. Our involvement included developing a logo and identity that aligns with the company’s new vision. Additionally, we crafted comprehensive brand guidelines, corporate literature, trade displays, and a holding page to ensure a cohesive and impactful brand presentation.
TERMINATOR
In parallel, we addressed another product under the RID Australia umbrella—Terminator, offering a fast-killing solution to flying and crawling insects in and around the home. Our contribution involved developing a dedicated product website featuring video content, informative fact sheets, and meticulously designed label artwork. This comprehensive approach ensured a unified and impactful brand presence for RID Australia and its diverse product offerings.
