The Client
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton was established in 1882. Covering an area of 414,400 square kilometres, from Bundaberg in the south to Mackay in the north and west to the Northern Territory border, it comprises 31 parishes and 81 mass centres.
THE CHALLENGE
The project aimed to address the Diocese’s fragmented visual identity. The existing logo’s inconsistent usage diluted the perception of a unified front. MadeKnown was engaged to strategically reshape and guide the visual direction forward.
THE SOLUTION
The rebrand’s centrepiece is a meticulously redrawn crest with subtle colour enhancements. Leveraging the shield element, we crafted a compelling corporate identity. To maintain consistency, comprehensive brand guidelines were developed, empowering the Diocese to create material while ensuring adherence to the refined new look.
WEBSITE REDEVELOPMENT
The Diocese’s website, a central communication hub, underwent a strategic redesign to deliver extensive information effectively. Advanced functionalities, including a refined search feature, user-friendly mass times lookup, parish-specific updates, streamlined donation system, branded email templates, and a self-hosted newsletter platform, seamlessly align with the new visual identity.

The Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton website was awarded Bronze in the Best Non-Profit Website category at the Summit International Creative Awards, Portland Oregon, USA.
