THE CLIENT
Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton established a new high school in Mackay which opened in 2022. Catherine McAuley College is a Catholic co-educational facility catering to the full range of students. Starting with pioneering Year 7’s in 2022, it will grow into a complete Years 7 to 12 profile by 2027.
COMPELLING LOGO AND VISUAL IDENTITY
Tasked with creating a logo and visual identity system, MadeKnown designed a shield motif symbolising dedication to learning tradition and support for Christ’s message. The dynamic stylised cross emphasises centrality to Jesus and pays homage to Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy. Bold colours reflect Mackay’s cane fields and rainforests, defining the region’s tropical home. The logo serves as the focal point of the visual identity, its elements reimagined to infuse dynamism and energy.
FUNCTIONAL WEBSITE PLATFORM
The visual identity system played a pivotal role in shaping the website, prioritising user flow and accessibility. The site, built on a user-friendly CMS system, allows effortless updates, unlimited page creation, and accommodates various content types, enhancing overall user engagement.
